Channel Partners & Consultants

MBRx provides an outsourced medical banking solution, Patient Driven Rx(SM), to PBMs, and because Patient Driven Rx(SM) is a significant differentiator, MBRx offers a unique and comprehensive market strategy to Custodial Banks, CDH Administrators, Financial Institutions and Pre-paid Debit Card Vendors to achieve their respective market objectives through mutually beneficial incentives.  By design, early adopters will secure the most significant competitive advantage!

Custodial Banks

As a MBRx channel partner, MBRx provides Custodial Banks an effective strategy, through product/service differentiation, to drive an increase in deposits and play a more prominent role in eliminating the deficiencies experienced under all current CDHP pharmacy programs while achieving their market objectives through mutually beneficial incentives.

Since all Custodial Bank product and service offerings are essentially the same due to the highly regulated consumer driven health (CDH) market and those regulations enable consumers to choose any custodial bank they wish to use when utilizing a consumer driven health plan (CDHP); it makes it extremely difficult to steer consumers to any particular custodial bank.  Custodial Banks that are members of the MBRx Channel Partner network [participate in the network of MBRx Channel Partners] can utilize the MBRx business development strategy can provide consumers an incentive to move their CDH account from their existing Custodial Bank to the MBRx Channel Partner Custodial Bank.

As a member of the MBRx Channel Partner network, Custodial Banks play an integral role in eliminating the deficiencies of the 100% copay portion of CDHP pharmacy programs.  Additionally, MBRx provides Custodial Banks an effective strategy in which the Patient Driven Rx(SM) solution can be utilized to enable a “preferred” status with health plans, insurance carriers and/or TPAs, and provide consumer driven health plan members an incentive to transfer their existing CDH bank account to the MBRx’s Channel Partner Custodial Bank.   Custodial Banks that are Channel Partners with MBRx, can use the Patient Driven Rx(SM) solution to:

  • Increase deposits by providing consumers under each CDHP an incentive to transfer their existing CDH bank account to the MBRx Channel partner Custodial Bank,

  • Secure new partnerships with CDHPs,

  • Enable a “preferred” status with CDHPs, and

  • Strengthen existing relationships with CDHPs.

Consumer Driven Health Administrators

As a MBRx channel partner, MBRx provides CDH Administrators an effective strategy, through product/service differentiation, to add value to their Custodial Bank and consumer driven health plan (CDHP) clients by helping them compete more effectively by playing a more prominent role in eliminating the deficiencies experienced under all current CDHP pharmacy programs while achieving their market objectives through mutually beneficial incentives.

As a member of the MBRx Channel Partner network, CDH Administrators can equip:

  • CDHPs with a significant differentiator that serves as a tremendous competitive advantage enabling rapid growth, and

  • Custodial Banks with an effective market strategy to accomplish the objectives identified above.

Financial Institutions & Pre-paid Debit Card Vendors

As a MBRx channel partner, MBRx can provide financial institutions and pre-paid debit card vendors an effective strategy, through product/service differentiation that adds value to their debit cards by providing consumers with a pharmacy cash discount card from one of MBRx’s PBM clients at no cost to either the financial institution, pre-paid debit card vendor or their customer (consumer).

Under pharmacy cash discount card programs it is not uncommon for PBMs to experience a claim adjudication reversal rate of up to 50%.  When adjudication circumvention occurs, neither the patient nor the PBM have any way of knowing it has occurred at the point-of-sale.

This deficiency leaves the patient vulnerable to:

  • Paying more than their network contract rate, and

  • An inability to receive concurrent Drug Utilization Review on all prescriptions - thereby making them susceptible to drug therapy related problems which otherwise could have been detected and avoided.

The MBRx medical banking solution, Patient Driven Rx(SM):

  • Eliminates the pharmacist’s ability to “game” the system and increase the price of prescriptions above the network contracted rate, and

  • Enables PBMs to provide concurrent Drug Utilization Review  on all prescriptions

Consultants

MBRx does not classify Consultants as Channel Partners. However, consultants are compensated for their perceived expertise and are always seeking ways to differentiate themselves by demonstrating superior expertise to alternative consultants.   Resulting from the information provided by MBRx, consultants will be equipped with the information provided by MBRx to regarding the deficiencies of traditionally administered high deductible health plans (including consumer driven health plans) and pharmacy cash discount card programs demonstrate superior expertise and value to their clients seeking a PBM as compared to alternative consultants.  This expertise can be further demonstrated by including the following question in every Requests for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP):

Please explain the real-time, quality control measure that you [PBM] can provide to prevent pharmacies from circumventing the adjudication process when the patient bears the full financial responsibility for the cost of the prescription.

Absent a real-time, quality control solution that prevents pharmacists from circumventing the adjudication process patients, health plans, and PBMs have no way of knowing at the point of service if the claim has been submitted and reversed, leaving them vulnerable to:

  • Patients paying more than the negotiated discount rate for prescriptions – universal application

  • Drug therapy related problems such as drug interactions, duplicate therapies, etc. are not detected and avoided  – universal application.

  • Deductibles are not tracked at the point of sale – applicable to all account based and non-account based high deductible health plans.

  • Claims are not being counted toward the patient’s deductible – applicable to all account based and non-account based high deductible health plans.
